Surely I'm not the only one who's always scoping out other moms' gear, right? Whether it's at the playground, at the library, or on a playdate, I'm constantly on the lookout for little things that will make parenting tasks a little bit easier or a little more fun.
A few weeks ago, I saw a mom at the playground feeding her son apple slices from an adorable little fabric bag. Now, I am not shy when it comes to interrogating folks about their kid products, and I was thrilled to find out that she'd acquired these clever little bags at a local organic grocery store.
I carry quite an array of snacks in my diaper bag, so I'd never wanted to put each snack in a hard-sided container. But my son has recently decided that biting straight through the side of a zip-top baggie is the most efficient way to his Cheerios (including last Sunday at Mass, spilling cereal beneath our pew and the adjoining row--good times). I decided it was time to do something about our snacking situation, so I headed out to look for the fabric bags.

Y'all. These little lunchskins are completely adorable. They come in three sizes (a small snack size, a medium sandwich size, and a larger "sub" size) and feature a variety of sassy patterns. They're made of thick cotton and coated with a food-safe polyurethane liner, with a fold-over hook-and-loop closure. (Toddler teeth aren't getting through these!) They're BPA- and phthalate-free. They're dishwasher safe, people, which is a huge score in my book. And they're designed and made right here in the good ol' U-S-of-A.
Beyond the obvious lunch- or snack-containing use, lunchskins would be perfect for corralling crayons or mom's makeup in the diaper bag.

A product that solves my bag-munching toddler problem, reduces waste from disposable plastic baggies, and looks far more stylish coming out of the diaper bag than a crumpled zip-loc? Win, win, and win.
