"Will Run for Champagne" Shirt Giveaway!

Over on my personal blog, I've talked a little about launching a shop with my good friend Cherie. (The shop is called Cherry Jean, named after our respective college nicknames for each other and we'll leave it at that so I don't spiral into many stories that end with "and we were drunk.") It's been fun to start this little adventure with Cherie. Feel free to follow us on Twitter and Facebook, too!

Anyway, the inspiration behind this shop -- and the website -- is that I was looking for a "will run for champagne" shirt and couldn't find one anywhere. I called my talented friend Cherie and pleaded with her to make me one and then we talked for another hour about how we should go ahead and make everyone a shirt because that's just how Cherie and I are. 

Why be sane and normal when it's so much more fun to be a little crazy?

I wore this shirt in my first half-marathon in Vegas and we got a couple extra in our first order. I thought it'd be fun to give away that extra shirt to a lucky reader here!

Some of the fine print-y stuff:

• The shirt is a M, but we're happy to provide you with the size of your choice. The ship time will just be extended by a couple weeks so we can place that order.
• One comment per email address!
• We can only ship to the U.S. at this time.
• The giveaway will stay live for one week, until 2/9 at 11:59 p.m.

One of my favorite giveaways from last year was our gift guide giveaway, where we randomly selected a commenter to pick anything they wanted from our 2010 gift guide. Well, what do you know, we're back to do the same exact thing this year. Hooray!

Free Music for the Holidays (and All Days!)

So, the holidays are upon us and I don't know about YOU but my thoughts are turning to all the many, many dollars I'm going to be spending in the upcoming months. I'm thankful for Amazon Mom and Amazon Prime this year is all I'm saying! I usually curb my spending around this time of year, and one of the first things to go is purchases on iTunes (aside from the occasional irresistible Christmas song). I love music and discovering new stuff ... just so long as it's a legal download. I always, always pay for my music on iTunes.

This is why I am SO excited to share a site called NoiseTrade with you! Artists upload free tracks/albums for you to download totally free (and legally!). I've discovered some cool new music there and have also downloaded music from a few of my favorite artists. Right now there's a free The Civil Wars live set, some assorted Christmas albums, even a Jars of Clay album to download for free! Sweet! Check it out ... if you're into music you will definitely be pleased.

Another source I use to get free stuff on iTunes is this blog: Free iTunes Downloads. I added it to my feed reader and it alerts me whenever there's anything free to download on iTunes. I've gotten some sweet samplers, and NOT missed out on many free songs thanks to this blog!

One of my favorite places to score free downloads is Starbucks. You know those little cards they put at the register good for a free song/app/video? They are AWESOME. I try to never, ever miss out (and admittedly? I sometimes grab a card at my local Target Starbucks even when I'm not buying a coffee. Which I don't feel guilty about because of the THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of dollars I have spent on lattes at Starbucks over the years).
