I've always considered myself to have a shortish torso but I didn't actually know that for sure. I wasn't honestly sure how one would know that your torso was "short" or "long" unless it was obviously so but it's something you can measure (of course). To figure out your torso measurement, have a friend place a measuring tape at the base of your neck and measure down your spine to the base of your back where it meets the top of your hips.
Here are some numbers from eHow.com for comparison:
female height: " 5'2" to 5'6," torso length measurement of 15" to 17"
If your height falls above or below these averages compare your torso measurements to this standard, with extra small and small being a short torso, medium being average, and large being long torso:
Extra Small: torsos up to 15 ½"
Small: torsos 16" to 17 ½"
Medium/Regular: torsos 18" to 19 ½"
Large/Tall: torsos 20" and up
There are also visuals that can help you decide where you fall on the torso spectrum
Do you all know what torso type you have? Am I the last person to figure this out for certain?
