So, I bought some cowboy boots...oh, yes I did, y'all. Here they are:
Their big, inaugural unveiling will take place at Gruene Hall in a few weeks (very appropriate, right? You Texas folks surely understand this...) for the first of what will hopefully become an annual girls' weekend trip.
Now, here's where I need your help: what do I wear with them? I'm leaning heavily toward my American Eagle Skinny Kick jeans, (for further naval-gazing analysis, here's a picture of me wearing those jeans) but have no idea about what to wear on top--and I can't pull off the "I'm so hip and ironic that I like to wear western wear in a hip and ironic way" look. I'm envisioning a top like this:
Loft Sheer Dolman Sleeve Blouse
(Even if you guys shoot this down as a potential girls' weekend top, I think I'll need to make it mine for another occasion.)
I already have this top that might work:
(Think: with chunky necklace and bangle bracelets)
I'm also open to options that don't involve jeans. The weather will likely still be warm when we're there, so bare legs are a viable option.
Bring me your ideas and suggestions!

I wear my boots with everything. Completely unironically. I even wore them with a vintage black dress. Of course, that was for a Texas charity gala, but still...Pretty much any top will work. I prefer untucked tops with cowboy boots. What about this top? http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/shopsale-tops/24101503.jsp
It's really light (also kind of see through and size Up, geez, so tiny). But, it is also on sale and could be used for work, with colored jeans, denim, skirts, etc after girls' weekend.

I love my boots and I wear them ALL the time. I think that flowy sleeveless tops and jeans are timeless with boots, but so are a (not-too-short) pair of Daisy Dukes, jean skirts or cute little dresses. The only thing I've noticed that doesn't go with boots is sundress-style dresses - something about having a dress without much structure makes the boots like a little too out-of-place. Also, shirts with really obvious western-style collars can feel a little too "rodeo" and not enough "queen" if you know what I mean. :)
Rock those boots and show us pictures! :)
