Father John Misty's Fear Fun is so strange and so quirky that I suspect it's kind of brilliant.
His sound is kind of like a blend of Rufus Wainwright and City and Colour but his lyrics are truly unique. He claims the album is a result of a drug-fuelled trip down the west coast which is believable after listening closely to his words.
The standout tracks for me are "I'm Writing a Novel" and the beautifully absurd "Tee Pees 1 - 12."
