This is my dining room table. My mom made the table runner for me out of the bridesmaid dress that my sister wore in my wedding. (I shall pause while you all say “awwww!”)
Anyway, I am looking for a centerpiece to go in the middle of the table runner. After much consideration, I think I’ve decided on a Zen Garden.Obviously, not a full size outside one, but one of the small, inside a small tray type.
After I find an appropriate tray, it ought to be pretty easy to put together myself. Things like sand and rocks are fairly easy to come by and I will probably look for a nice little statement piece for it. We even already have a small Buddha that my brother-in-law sent us from his trip to Vietnam. So my main problem is finding an appropriate tray. Have you seen one anywhere? I’d like a fairly deep one, since I have children all over my house on a regular basis and I think it will help minimize the mess. (I accept that there will be a mess and I think I am crazy for wanting this now. But I am still going to try it anyway.)
