I desperately need new kitchen towels. My current ones are kind of embarassing. The only problem is that I can never find any that I like and I am not ever motivated enough to look very hard.

My main problem is that I want a towel that is both nice looking and functional and most afforable towels seem to be either one or the other. I want them to be absorbant right away, instead of when they are years old, faded and torn.
Have you found the perfect kitchen towel and where can I get it?

Target sells some nubby bar towel-like ones in two packs. They're more square than regular kitchen towels and are extremely absorbent. I don't like them when I need a towel to cover baked goods, but these always are the ones I reach for when I need to dry dishes or wipe up a spill.

Sur la Table. Look in their sale section.

I was given these: http://www.amazon.com/Now-Designs-Floursack-Towels-Chartreuse/dp/B000CDW96S by a dear friend, during our Holiday "favorite things" gift exchange. They've now become one of my "favorite things". Very absorbent and pretty colors.

I bought a metric ton of those Williams-Sonoma towels pictured about 3 or 4 years ago. They are still going strong. Love them.

I swear by these Ikea towels. I probably have 15-20 of them, and they last for quite a while. Very absorbent and great for the kitchen. A few of mine have tears in them, but for the most part they are in good shape. For $1 a piece, they are wonderful!

I have 3 different colors/patterns of the WS towels pictured and I love them! They're BIG and soft, but also absorbent and hold up really well to many washings. Definitely recommend!

I love WS towels! However, I'm not a huge fan of the waffle-ribbed ones, just the smooth ones.

I also love the Ikea towels linked above. So cheap and good!
