I have a secret theory (that I tell everyone) that buying expensive purses actually saves you money. In my mind, I'm only allowed to own $300 purses if I don't let myself buy any of the $30 purses that catch my eye as I wander around Target. One $300 purse once a year saves me A LOT of money on random cheapy purses. In theory.
Anyway, the other day I noticed that I had been spending a lot of time dithering around the cheap purse section of Target again and it made me realize that it has been far too long since I've bought myself an overpriced purse and it was time to put my money saving plan into action once more. And in fact it's been so long that I find myself in dire need of a whole slew of overpriced purses, and even though I can't afford to buy all of these at once, here's what I am in the market for.
First of all, I need a brown purse, but since I haven't found a brown purse I can afford that I really love yet, I will show you the ultimate dream purse, this Chloe Marcie Tote. I will not be purchasing this anytime soon, but a girl can dream, right?
I also need a new black purse because I finally retired the Kate Spade I've had forever. I like Kate, but she's a little prissy for my taste these days. But I really dig this Maddox Satchel from Fossil.
A white purse just for summer is kind of impractical, but I've wanted one for ages and ages.
In my personal opinion no one makes a white bag like Marc Jacobs. This is the "Too Hot To Handle Hobo" and it's pretty fabulous.
I will also require a straw purse for days at the beach.
I might as well just give Marc Jacobs all my money right now.
Then, finally, I'd like a purse in a fun bright color:
The Michael Kors Grayson Satchel is gorgeous in person, although it came in red last year and I'm not sure how I feel about the orange. I'd have to see it in person.
This Kista Satchel from Anthropologie is a nice yellow, if I go with yellow, and I always really like the bags at Anthropologie when I see them in person.
Done any purse window shopping of your own lately? Do you have any fabulous finds I'm missing out on?

I bought a Pippa by Modalu for my birthday and Love is not strong enough. From leather to workmanship, to the details, it is worth every penny. I think it is a classic purse that I will use for years. Plus, Princess Catherine and Pippa have them, so it's like I have something royal!
I'm also in severe lust for most of J Crew's offerings right now. I think an Edie in a fun color would be awesome.

Pricey purses are my crack, Elizabeth. I'd like one of each, please.
