I know a trash can is not something most people normally get all jazzed about but it's a necessary evil, right? And if you are like us and have an aging dog that has decided to suddenly revert to puppyhood, you might be looking at ways to thwart her every attempt at digging through trash cans. At one point, we even had our bathroom trash on our bathroom countertop because we didn't have room for it under the sink, which is obviously less than ideal. I wanted a step can for that bathroom like we have in our guest bath but honestly I'm too cheap to pay $24 for a bathroom trashcan. A TRASH CAN.
Which is what Simple Human is charging for their mini round retro step can. If I have $24 to throw around at Target, I'm buying a pair of sandals or something fun, you know?
So when I found this alternative at Ikea
For $15? I snatched that puppy up faster than I could figure out how to pronounce it. The hulingen pedal bin is stainless steel on the outside and comes with a little inner bucket that has a handle for ease of trash disposal and thwarted our crazy dog as desired.

I recently bought a fancy, tall stainless steel trash can for my kitchen. It's a weird thing to get excited about, but I did. Found mine at Home Goods in Allen, Tx. It's nice not having to look at the trash. And if I had one in the bathroom then my husband wouldn't have to look at Tampax every month.
