I dId this myself last month (and I am NOT a crafter). Let's just say gorilla glue spreads a lot as it dries (as in into the spaces between the lego tiles). Not pretty, but still very functional and the prefect place for our Lego house, cafe, etc).

I'm a reluctant DIYer. I generally find once I get past the inertia and the planning phase, it's easier than I imagined and quicker as well.
