Keeping up with trends is one way I fight the mom wardrobe. I love to try new things. But this neon business? Oy. I am a child of the 80's, I've done this and done it badly. So, while I'm terrified of it coming back, I'm trying to look at it as a way to get it better than the time I wore two different slouch socks and a neon yellow dress with a pink belt in 3rd grade. (I looked GOOD and no one could tell me otherwise, save for my 34 year old self. Ahem.) I'm not jumping in with both feet with this one, I'll admit. More of a toe-test. How? With this nail color. Essie, clambake.
It's crazy bright and a little distracting but it's working for me. And I also grabbed this top last week from Target. I love it! Because its sheer it helps tone it down a little. The geometric print helps too. And it has an exposed zipper in the back. Sold!
What's your take on this neon trend? Love it or hate it?

I'm kind of old (nearly 50) and I like to wear classic styles with a touch of the latest trend so I'm not opposed to the latest trends. However, I have a feeling the neon thing is going to be one I will regret if I try it. I understand I should find a way to throw in a piece or accessory without overdoing it, but with neon? I don't know how to do it and do it well so I'll probably skip it altogether.

Seeing the neon brings back odd memories from junior high...I seem to recall that I had a bright pink skinny necktie, of all things! And of course all the hair scrunchies, slouchy socks, and nail polish, too.

I totally have Clambake on my toes RIGHT THIS SECOND. It's my favorite for summer!
