About six months ago, my (then) four year old became obsessed with playing UNO. This was the parenting moment I had been waiting for. I am not a big pretend game player or block builder or playground fiend, but board and card games are my thing. Hooray!
But just as my kid got excited about card games, he became frustrated by his inability to hold the slippery cards in his little hands. Instead of shouting UNO! we spent most of our game time digging up cards that had slid between the couch cushions.
Fortunately, a wise friend with a kid a couple of years older than mine came to our rescue, and gave us a Little Hands Card Holder.
Original Little Hands Playing Card Holder
Simple, cheap ($3.99) and brilliant. My child can now take care of his own hand of cards, no problem. He is currently the UNO champion of our family. We plan to teach him to play Bridge by his next birthday.

We all remember the playgrounds of our childhood with a certain fondness. What most of us fail to realize is just how dangerous some of the playground equipment was. Thankfully, playground safety has come a long way in the past decades.
