Over on my personal blog, I've talked a little about launching a shop with my good friend Cherie. (The shop is called Cherry Jean, named after our respective college nicknames for each other and we'll leave it at that so I don't spiral into many stories that end with "and we were drunk.") It's been fun to start this little adventure with Cherie. Feel free to follow us on Twitter and Facebook, too!
Anyway, the inspiration behind this shop -- and the website -- is that I was looking for a "will run for champagne" shirt and couldn't find one anywhere. I called my talented friend Cherie and pleaded with her to make me one and then we talked for another hour about how we should go ahead and make everyone a shirt because that's just how Cherie and I are.
Why be sane and normal when it's so much more fun to be a little crazy?
I wore this shirt in my first half-marathon in Vegas and we got a couple extra in our first order. I thought it'd be fun to give away that extra shirt to a lucky reader here!
Some of the fine print-y stuff:
- The shirt is a M, but we're happy to provide you with the size of your choice. The ship time will just be extended by a couple weeks so we can place that order.
- One comment per email address!
- We can only ship to the U.S. at this time.
- The giveaway will stay live for one week, until 2/9 at 11:59 p.m.
- We'll announce the winner on 2/10.
To enter, comment with: What's your favorite race to date or a race you may have planned that you're looking forward to? Or just tell us hello!
Good luck! And happy drinking/running.

I'd be willing to pay for the shirt...just saying! Seriously, champagne & dessert is the only reason I run!

Boilermaker 15K in Utica, NY - great race, great distance - farther than a 5K, but not unmanageable to train/do.

How cute is this! I am not a runner, but one of my good college friends just started and she's working up the courage to run her first long race this summer, so I would totally send it to her. :)

I just ran the Tough Mudder this past weekend- 12 miles, 30 military obstacles, lots of water and mud, and while it was the hardest thing I've ever done, I am so pleased that I finished it!
I'm running the Austin Livestrong half in two weeks (my first half marathon!), and hopefully this past weekend will have been decent prep for that!

I'm still trying to get brave enough to run my first 5k. LOVE this shirt though!

Ooh, I was just about to order mine. Winning would be even better!
I really loved the Houston half. It was a last minute run (my friend was injured a week before the race). It was such a fun run. Lots of support, well organized, no travel, perfect running weather. A great time. Well, except those last 2 miles. I was feeling the fact that I had not trained during those last 2 miles!
My next race is the Austin Half. If I make it to the finish line, I WILL be drinking some champagne!

I LOVE champagne, love it, love it and I love running! This short is too cute and sooo perfect for me. Fave race was 2004 LA Marathon because hello I RAN a marathon!

LOVE this shirt! I really want to do one of the Diva half marathons, the whole shirtless firefighters giving you your medal at the finish line sounds pretty darn motivating but I can't travel to any of them so I'm doing some local 10ks.

I love champagne! I have two favorite races to date:
-My VERY first cross-country race in HS. I was on the C-team since I had no previous experience, and ended up with an awesome time for my history, and placed 3rd!
-My very first Susan G Komen race (current kerfuffle aside, their Race for the Cure events are so much fun!). My local race has local bands throughout the course, and this was my first BIG (200+) participant race. My mind was pretty blown seeing ALL those people lined up to kick cancer's ass. I may have gotten sentimental just a bit.

My favorite is the first (and only) 5K I ran last fall. The course is extremely flat and in an area I know well.

I actually hate to run, but if there was champagne waiting for me at the end, I might reconsider!

My favorite is the NY Marathon b/c I went last year to watch my sis-in-law run in it. After running around the city in order to sheer her on in 4 different spots, I was more winded than she was:) I'd love to win this for her!

I always say that I would need someone chasing me for me to actually run. But for champagne, I really might give it a try ;)

I will do just about ANYTHING for champagne....seriously!! I'm not a big runner, so have never done a race...but, if I had this shirt (and my friends had a bottle chilling at the finish line), I'd seriously consider it!!!

My favorite run so far has been the Turkey Trot 5k, such a great workout before the feast. The one I am most looking forward to is a memorial 5k that I will be running in April in a dear friend's memory who was taken too soon!
Love the shirts!

My favorite race? I have two. I know, I know, not fair.
My first was the first Cowtown 10k I ran, in 2009. The surge of emotion as I ran across the starting line, and then as I turned the last corner and saw the finish line a few blocks away, is something that I will carry with me the rest of my days.
My second favorite was the 2011 Turkey Trot 10k because it was the first time that I ran THE ENTIRE TIME (not counting the super fast walk through the water stations), and I felt strong and proud and happy and alive.

My sister in law sooo needs this shirt! I would buy one as well!!

My favorite race was a 5k I did on the UT campus in 2003 just because it was my first. I also (unrelatedly) met my husband that day.

I entered the lottery for the NYC marathon this year. If I don't get in, I'll likely do the Cape Cod one. WOULD love to sport this through training and the RACE... Eek, they say #2 is the hardest!

I hope running around with yard with my dog and a tennis ball counts for something!

I love the Lotide run because it ends on the beach and it's for a great cause. I can't do it again this year but definitely next year!!

Love the shirt...haven't run anywhere, but I do love Cherie and her fabulous talent!
