As you all know, Pinterest is AWESOME! I mean! Dude! I learned how to make t-shirt scarves, then there's the lollipop Valentines ... so many cool ideas in one organized space. Recently a friend of mine posted about trying out something she saw on Pinterest that worked. It's the one where you cut the green tops off green onions, then put the white part in water and the green will grow back. Green onions forever!
Like so:

So you KNOW the first thing I did is run to the grocery store, buy some green onions, chop the tops off and stick the rest in water. AND IT TOTALLY WORKS!! Sure enough there are green shoots growing back. If I play my cards right? I'll NEVER buy green onions again. Right?!
There's a similar plant-pin going around about how to make a houseplant out of the top of a pineapple (and also, in the process, GROW a pineapple!):

Has anyone ever tried this one? According to the blog it takes two years for results. Which probably means it's not a good one for my house (a crowded house with two big dogs and two small children), but I still want to know if anyone's tried it!
How about you? Have you tried anything cool on Pinterest lately? Is it as EASY as they say it will be? Was it a total flop? Is there a pin that makes you wonder "would that really work?"

YES! There is one that I keep seeing that says "use a syringe to inject food coloring into lemons- great for a party!" And I am like "um, you guys? That is totally a picture of photoshopped oranges." There is one other one that is blatantly wrong and stupid, but luckily, I have managed to block it out of my mind temporarily.

Just want to state for the record that I did the lollipop valentines photos LAST YEAR (that's right, pre-pinterest I actually found it on my own on another blog).
Moving on, I made some really cute ornaments for my girls taken from pinterest (Santa's list glued onto a wooden spool painted red). And I wrapped our outdoor christmas lights around a piece of cardboard (easy to do, saves space, and no tangling - and I'm recycling so bonus points).
I really want to try the doll hair untangler spray...
adding green onions to my grocery list (for the last time).

The pineapple trick does work! That's how pineapples are transplanted and grown. I grew up in Hawaii and we grew many, many pineapples (but yes, it does take a looooong time). Eventually, though, you'll get more than one fruit growing on a plant and they grow faster at that point.

My dad did this when I was a kid! He kept it in the windowsill forever!
