Unless the temperature around me is above eighty degrees Fahrenheit, my legs and feet are usually chilly. I wear socks all the time - yes, even in the summer. And in the winter, I am always on the lookout for a way to stay warm but avoid looking like I'm headed to the top of K-2.
I have seen these fleece lined tights around, and I wonder:

Do they feel like long underwear? Will my cute shoes fit over them? Will they be as warm and cozy as they are in my dreams? Are they worth $35 plus shipping?
I've also considered trying out some leg warmers under my boots:

But I'm a child of the 80's, and the last time I wore leg warmers I had a matching polo shirt with a popped collar and a permed bi-level haircut. Am I going to look like an idiot if I pick up this trend twenty years later? Will this keep my legs warm or is it purely a cosmetic fix?
Tell me, Style Lush readers, what do you know about these trends? Are they worth a try? And will they keep me warm?

I bought fleece-lined tights at Filene's Basement (RIP) a few months ago. Not sure of the brand. I love them. They are thicker than regular tights, but not so thick that your shoes won't fit over them. Very cozy. Highly recommended. $35 seems a bit high; maybe you could find a less expensive brand if you're not sure about them.

I scored myself some fleece-lined leggings at Gap ($20-ish, I think?) that are SO WARM and cozy without adding bulk. Doesn't really help the cold feet, but might be a start?
My mother-in-law gave me leg warmers for Christmas and I have yet to wear them outside the house (they are cute and warm!) due to the same fears you mentioned. Maybe this weekend?

I might have to try those fleece lined tights, they sound cozy. I know you can also get fleece lined jeans which wouldn't help the toes but does sound cozy.

I bought a couple pairs of the fleece lined tights on Anthropologie last year and I love them (I don't see them on their website anymore). I'm pretty sure they were only $24 and I felt they were well worth the cost. They didn't feel bulky but are much warmer than regular tights. Highly recommend!

Check figure skating supply shops for warm tights (Mondor is one brand I used to wear. Should be way less than $35 a pair! And rock those legwarmers or tall wooly socks over jeans. As long as the jeans are skinny, I think it totally works. Then again, I'm an admitted former figure skater, so I could be wrong about that ...,
