Whoa! Wrapping paper is expensive, no? I recently stopped by my local drugstore to pick up some rolls for wrapping my husband's birthday gifts (a Whirlypop, a Bialetti espresso pot, and tickets to an Ira Glass lecture, in case you were wondering), and the paper was $4.99 per roll. And, although the two rolls I selected were the best the store had to offer, it's not like they were the best wrap ever. In fact, they were both pretty generic.
So, I have a new plan: brown kraft paper (or grocery bags, turned inside out), embellished with ribbons, cute tape, doillies, yarn, and other fun odds and ends.
Loving Leslie's use of yellow, white, and gray.
Brown paper packages dipped in confetti!
Brilliant use of library cards for wrapping books.
All sorts of fun odds and ends decorating packages, via Compai Blog.
Rainbow yarn, via Babble.
Endless options--but only one roll of paper required!

Oooooooh! I LOVE these! Wrapping with care makes the present so much more special. :)
