Ages ago, in a Martha Stewart Living issue, I saw shadowboxes used for displaying baby keepsakes: tiny shoes, little onesies, handknit hats. I loved this idea, and decided to do it for my son's bedroom wall when we transitioned him to a big kid room. In order to keep the room a little less "baby" and a little more "boy," I decided to frame his first pair of Chuck's.
I haven't hung this yet because I'm not quite sure how to mount the shoes on the box fabric. Any suggestions? And, I also want to include a photo of Kyle in his shoes.
(He's so little!)
It was surprisingly tough to find a deep enough shadow box, but I finally found one (on sale!) at Aaron's Brothers.
You could also frame more than one pair, as your son or daughter grows, like this idea I found on Pinterest.
Regardless, it's pretty cute, huh? At least until my son starts forming his own opinions on how he wants to decorate his room, which will most likely be in about a week.
Do you have any cute ways to display keepsakes?

I think velcro strips might work. They are pretty strong.
That is such a cute idea! Nate's first pair were red- I think I need to do this, too!! So cute!

Lisa at trappedinnorthjersey.blogspot.com made a shoe shadow box for her daughter. You could e-mail her to ask how she attached the shoes.

Maybe a really big push pin, like you use on a bulletin board? This would obviously only work if the fabric was backed by some sort of foam or something like that.

Oh, I love that idea! Makes me want to go home and dig Ry's shoes out of the rubbermaid container!
