So. Plum. It bills itself as Netflix for kids' clothing, and, well, that seems pretty nifty to me. The gist is this: you subscribe to a monthly plan of seven, four or two outfits a month for $49, $29 and $16 for each monthly bundle. The outfits come in a pre-paid envelope, which means when you're done, you ship 'em back -- dirty, even! -- and get a new bundle.
Brands include Tea Collection, Petit Bateau, Kate Quinn organics and more.
Personally, I love the idea, but $49 for seven outfits outfits seems pretty steep to me. I don't spend $50 a month on Sam's clothes, but that might be because I'm cheap and buy them all at Target and Old Navy.
They're on a wait-list right now, so I'm probably alone. What do you think?

$49 seems a bit steep...that is almost $600 a year..for "rental" clothing! I have been lucky to have friends with older children hand down their clothing. It looks brand new, and my son has WAY more clothes then I do.

It seems like a brilliant plan...for rich people whose children can't be caught dead rewearing the same outfit. That seems to be the target audience (moreso than people just trying to keep up with how fast their kids grow), and the program will probably do very well in that demographic.
(Don't get me wrong, I *wish* I could afford it.) (Although if I could, I'd probably find something more practical to spend that money on.)

Leah, I KNOW. Although, you know, let's think about it. If I COULD afford it, would I spend $50 a month on ONLY SEVEN outfits? That's the kicker. It's only SEVEN. So you either wear the same seven outfits week in, week out, or you have to supplement (and spend more money) anyway.

I think it would depend on how fancy and cute they are. I don't think it would be my only source for clothes, but I'd gladly spend $16 a month to have two new boutiquey type outfits every month that I can return when I get bored of them. On the other hand, I spend um, kind of a lot of money on kids clothes, so it might actually save me money on trips to Macy's and internet orders to Mini Boden. It is a very dangerous thing to have a baby girl when you've been longingly glancing over at the girls section of the store for FOUR FREAKING YEARS.

Oh wow, that is a lot of money for 7 outfits. That you send back! I'd have to pass on this idea, even though it's a great way to try out new brands and higher end items.

Definitely seems fun, but spendy. I usually get clothes in huge bundles off eBay, so I hardly spend anything on kids clothes.

Seven boutique outfits would be much more than $49. So I see the value. I may even sign up! I am kind of in love with the idea!

@Elizabeth, I'm with you 100% :) I probably spend $100 - $150 max on clothes for my son per year and I've already spent about $200 on clothes for my daughter and she won't even be born until October! I've been picking stuff up on clearance so some of the stuff won't even fit for another 2 summers but still...
