I am a total product whore, which is something I try really hard to keep on the down low, because it doesn't really fit with my generally non-stylish personality AND the fact that I don't wear a lot of makeup. But still: I am a total slut for new products, and I love love LOVE testing something, even if it turns out that I hate it. But, you know, my exciting career as a stay-at-home mom and part-time freelancer don't really allow for a budget that lets me buy a bunch of high-end beauty products just to try them out.
Oh, but Birchbox does. Yes, they are an online retailer that sells everything from Stila concealer to Serge Lutens fragrance (um, swoon. SWOON), but the gist is this: for $10 a month, you get a fun box of four to five pre-selected high-end samples of skincare, fragrance, body care, hair care -- ANYTHING beauty-related -- delivered to your door. Samples that are selected for you, based on your profile (so, in other words, if you're a woman of color, you won't be given a sample of Laura Mercier in Ivory). Try it. If you like it, you go buy it. If you don't, well, you had fun trying it, didn't you?
I am positively BRIMMING WITH EXCITEMENT over this. I know $10 seems pricey for samples, I know. But dude, it just seems like SO! MUCH! FUN!
Would you try it? WILL you try it?
It is kinda expensive given that you just get a few samples, but I am drawn to this! I cannot resist the pull of the monthly shipment of fun new stuff!

I've had a subscription for 6 months and you actually get some big samples. It is always worth at lest the 10 dollars and sometimes worth much more. I've gotten full sized lotions and chapsticks in mine. I gave it as a gift to my bff and she loves it too.

I've been subscribing to this for several months now and LOVE it. Have gotten some great samples, including a full-size Laura Mercier blush/highlight! It's such an exciting day when it shows up each month.

I'm a member. I love little beauty finds and $10 a month is cheaper than going to Sephora and having to spend $50 to get an assortment of lotions and potions. Also, it's fun to get surprises in the mail!
