Do any of you have children that are obsessed with Toy Story as much as my children?? My son, Emmett especially LOVES the movie. So, for his 2 year birthday, I gave him a Toy Story birthday party and he was beyond thrilled. I started with alien cupcakes you can find here. It's basically just a cake mix, white icing with some green food coloring, white M&M's, green sour straws, and an icing pen.
I also made some other Toy Story character cupcakes: Wheezy and Hamm. You can find wheezy instructions here, and Hamm instructions here. I didn't end up making Buzz lightyear ones because I didn't want to have too many cupcakes, but I saw these, and I thought they were ADORABLE!! Also, Jessi Hat cookies found here. SO CUTE!
While I was busy making cupcakes, my 3 year old daughter wanted to help desperately. I wanted her to feel like she was contributing to her little brother's party, so I let her decorate my extra cupcakes. Here it is in all it's glory:
And now time for favors!! Let's be honest, this is the best part. I made Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head goody bags. It took me a while, but it was ridiculously cheap since it was just construction paper and paper bags, and I kind of had fun doing it.
The party was a hit, and the Toy Story theme made my little man very happy!!

ADORABLE! I love the gift bags. Your little boy looks so happy, too. Very sweet.

Wow, our two-year-old's Toy Story birthday party featured Toy Story paper plates and plastic tablecloth, plus a couple figurines on the cake. I feel like a total slacker!
I was 8 months pregnant, though, so I guess I get a pass. And it was a family party so no gift bags.
