(Ok, perfect may be a bit of an overstatement ... but it's pretty close!)
While on the hunt for a new beach bag this year, I stumbled across the Ragtop Stripe Canvas Tote on the Land's End website. I love all of the Land's End tote bags, because they come in every size possible and hold up really well under the stress of travel, and this one seemed like it would be a good fit for the beach trip(s) I have planned for this summer.
As it turns out, this also makes a pretty nice airplane carry-on, as well. There are six internal pockets to keep your travel gear organized, and the sides snap together to make the bag a more manageable size if you want to use it as a purse once you reach your destination. Plus, if you're not a fan of the persimmon color, the bag also comes in navy and khaki.

The only downfall of the bag is that it has a snap closure on top, as I usually like to zip my bag for security purposes, but the bag is deep enough that even in the middle of the most hectic, toddler-meltdown-filled flight, I wasn't really worried about anything falling out. And at that price, I think I can deal with the slight inconvenience.
