Carter's Summer Stock Up Sale

I am a huge fan of Carter's. And I would spend an entire paragraph or six telling you why, but if you have a child, or know someone who does, I would guess you likely love or at least are familiar with Carter's too. So we'll skip right over the love fest and get to the important part.

THIS SALE IS FANTASTIC.

Anyone who shops at Carter's stores knows how ridiculously they inflate the prices on their clothes - at least, if you pay the price listed on the tags. Never, EVER pay the price on the tag. Without fail, everything in the store eventually goes on sale for AT LEAST 40 percent off, and if you sign up for emails on the Carter's website, you'll get email and snail mail coupons that can save you even more. 

I got one of those coupons in the mail yesterday. The front of the postcard advertised that shorts, t-shirts and tanks were $6 each; the back of the postcard had a coupon for 20 percent off of any purchase of $40 or more. I showed up at the store this morning and everything inside was on sale for $5 instead of $6 (the best kind of surprise), so today? I SHOPPED THIS SALE HARD.

How good was the deal I scored? CHECK IT:

Three girls tank tops
Two pair girls knit shorts
One pair girls cuffed denim jeans
One cotton eyelet dress
Four boys t-shirts
One pair boys knit shorts
One pair boys khaki shorts
One pair boys cotton plaid shorts

My grand total after my 20 percent coupon discount was applied? Just under $60. That's exactly how much I paid for one pair of women's white trousers at the Gap on Sunday afternoon (finally found a pair of white pants that aren't COMPLETELY SEE THROUGH, hallelujah.) (Does anyone need a white pants roundup? I can provide.)

That comes out to $4.15 per item pre tax (14 items total). And remember, this is Carter's stuff - it holds up well, keeps its shape, and is holy freaking adorable. Unfortunately, this sale doesn't appear to be equally amazing online (BOOOOO), so you have to be lucky enough to live near a physical location. But hey, if you do? Then get yourselves there, people. GO GO GO!

Online, use the promo code Sunshine for an extra 25% off. I got some great deals on toddler t-shirts! And a pair of aviator sunglasses that are totally non-essential, but adorable.
