Tinted Moisturizer: My Summer Staple

I'm heading to Florida for a long weekend/mini-vacation with my family later this month, and those impending days on the beach have kicked my seasonal make-up transition period up a couple of weeks.

As a general rule, nobody wants to look too made up in the summer, especially on those days where they're going to be outside, running after an over-excited toddler...and I am no exception. But I also want to look as put together as I can manage with as little effort as I can manage, since most of that toddler chasing is done in public places. And let's face it, I'm getting a little older now, and that natural glow I used to have in my early twenties?

Well, let's just say it's a little more man-made than it used to be these days.

For the last couple of years, I've been on the hunt for the perfect tinted moisturizer...something sturdy enough to even out my less than perfect complexion, but not so sturdy that it looks caked on. And, I think I've finally found it, in the form of Aveeno's Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer.

Add a little old school (for me, anyway, because this is the mascara I wore in high school, and while I've converted to Rebecca's L'Oreal recommendation in my everyday routine, this is still my go-to, no-fuss formula) Maybelline Full N' Soft waterproof mascara:

And a quick swipe of CoverGirl NatureLuxe Gloss Balm with SPF in Grenache (thank you, Lawyerish!):

And maybe some Maybelline Dream Mousse blush and Clinique Redness Solutions Mineral Pressed Powder to finish things off, if I'm feeling particularly motivated:

And I am ready for a day in the sun. Vacation...here I come!

I think I may have to get some of that tinted moisturizer... Back in my tanning bed days, I could go makeup free and still look pretty good. But since I've "given it up" (gotten too old for that stuff!), I need something to give me some color!

just picked some of that moisturizer up at Target today. I love Aveeno face washes - hoping I love this too.
