I used to be the gal who washed her face with face wash, then exfoliated, then used a toner followed by a SPF moisturizer.
First off, who has time for all that fuss? I know I don't. Heck, it's a good day if I actually wash my face. Fortunately, I can get away with being lazy because I hardly wear any makeup on a daily basis and I have a mostly dry skin complexion. If I did wash my face everyday, I'd probably start to look like a raisin. This girl needs some natural moisture!
Secondly, I began looking into the Cosmetic Database. Yeah, I know. It's hard to go there. Seeing some of the products we all use could be helping us grow a third eye. Who wants to really know that's happening? I'd rather be surprised, honestly.
However, I was curious about what I was putting on my face. (since I should be doing it on a daily basis, right?)
The face wash I was using was moderately okay, the exfoliater wasn't ideal, but my moisturizer was relatively spot-on. But, I was looking for something kinder to my skin. Something that was gentle, didn't have a lot of extras in it and actually worked well for me.
I found it.
In a bar of soap.
How old school, right?
Aveeno's Moisturizing Bar is perfect for my dry skin. It's fragrance-free and costs MUCH less than my old washing routine.
So, to say I'm pleased is an understatement.
What are your thoughts on the Cosmetic Database? Do you follow what they say to a T or ignore people like them completely?

The Cosmetic Database scares the bejebus out of me but it also makes me more aware at the same time. I need to do an overhaul of my skincare routine too. Maybe I need to go take a peek over there again to get motivated!

I've been using the Cosmetics Database a lot to revamp my beauty routine (ugh, deodorant. such bad news.). I've started using coconut oil exclusively to wash my face...it's awesome!
