When I had my first kid, 3.5 years ago, I tried to get into scrapbooking. I let my sister-in-law take me shopping and show me the tools I would need, I bought them, I made a few pages, then I got really into buying paper and fabric tape and my stuff grew and grew and my photos stayed in their envelopes and collected dust.
What I was left with is a ton of mementos, ticket stubs, hospital bracelets, sea shells and all sorts of little items that I wanted to keep but wasn't sure what to do with them. I decided to make adventure jars. Both of my boys have old mason jars in their rooms that hold all of these little scraps.
It's not organized, its not fancy, its just a jar of stuff. Stuff that I love, stuff that no longer stresses me out over not doing anything with it. You could make one of these for anything. Your wedding or a vacation, anything that you have some stuff laying around that you'd like to have a home for.

Absolutely love this idea!

This is such a great idea! I have a box of small items I've saved from vacations - ticket stubs from museums, a map of the London Undergound with my notations, a wine cork from the first bottle I drank in Italy, etc. They are such special treasures but I have been at a loss about how to display them. I'm totally working on this project this weekend - thanks!
