Each Christmas since we've been married, my husband has purchased me a holiday snowglobe. My favorite snowglobes have little cities inside and over the past seven years he's found globes filled with many of the cities we've visited together. It's so fun to shake the globes and watch glitter fall on the cities we've toured.
Saks 5th Avenue has a wonderful collection of city snowglobes which they will wrap beautifully with red satin ribbon (I can always spy the Saks wrapping under the tree!).
Each year I purchase my husband a Nutcracker. The Steinbach Nutcrackers are quite expensive, but I find amazing deals on them at discount stores like Marshalls or T.J. Maxx (and I often buy them the day after Christmas when they are further discounted and store them in my closet. In fact, I've had one living behind my sweaters for 12 months--he's so ready to make his debut!).
It's fun to decorate with our collections each year and reminisce about past holidays. We write the year on the bottoms in Sharpie so that when we are old and gray we can count the years together in snowglobes and nutcrackers.
Do you have any special holiday gift traditions?
