I have mad love for setting tables. It's ok, you can call me a weirdo if you'd like. I can take it.
Thanksgiving for me, is the culmination of everything awesome about table setting. Placecards! Wine glasses! Beautiful centerpieces! Chargers! Thanksgiving in our house has it all. And it is the only time of the year that my family -- there are usually around 25 for a sit-down dinner -- has to oooh and ahhhh and pretend that I'm not crazy for loving a gorgeous table.
Y'all, I have a color palette. I am not even kidding.
Would you like to know a secret? You can do it too. And my big secret is, it doesn't have to cost a fortune!
Last year we used burlap for texture {purchased in the garden section of a home store} as a runner down the middle of the table. We use clear glass plates year to year because it will go with whatever color scheme we dream up. Candles were tucked into votive holders and surrounded by dried beans. Placecards were made on the computer with fancy fonts. Flowers were picked up at Costco and we added a few gold spray painted berries from Michaels. Those linens? Ikea flat sheets!
Do you set a gorgeous table for a steal? I'd love to hear your secrets!

Wow, did you do these tables? They are beautiful! And I share your obsession with a beautiful table, although I am not at your skill level yet. :) I love the high chair peeking out at the corner... a little touch of reality. So cute. I'm not sure I have any secrets. My plates are Apilco porcelain from Williams Sonoma. I have the Apilco cow creamer because I think it is so stinkin' cute. My silver chargers are big heavy things I got several years ago. But I like the idea of doing a nice table for cheap!

This is lovely. I'm hosting Thanksgiving this year and trying to figure out how to fit ten people around my four-person table. I have the feeling some card tables will be involved.

I LOVE setting the table for Thanksgiving!! I only get to have it every 2nd or 3rd year, but when I do, I LOVE it! All pieced I've picked up over the year - TJMaxx Thanksgiving votive holders, misc heirloom crystal serving pieces from both sides of the family, and my china is very simple white with a gold edge, so that they will go with any color scheme!
Love that burlap idea... just may have to try it!
