Style Lush Readers, Pick My Shoes

I bought a dress. This isn't a very big deal by itself; people buy dresses all the time. But I haven't bought a new dress in ... quite a while. I've been aiming for a particular goal weight and pinching pennies and those two things do not encourage much shopping. But, I have a couple upcoming events I needed a dress for, so I bought this one from Mod Cloth. And I love it.

Now, the dress is already purchased, so if this is the worst dress you've ever laid eyes on ... maybe ... keep that particular opinion to yourself? Pretty please?

But, I am at a loss for shoes!

Do I go more obvious and just throw on a great pair of black heels? Do I try and find the perfect gray pair? Do I add color? If so, WHAT color?

What would you do? And, hey, if you have links I wouldn't turn those down either.

Shame on you for showing us a dress that gorgeous that is already sold out! I even have the perfect pair of shoes: black mary janes with a heel and a gray ribbon flower on the side of the strap (the strap also has gray piping). They're my favorite shoes even though they're a little small ($19.99 on clearance at DSW).

If I were you I would definitely go in search of gray shoes though; black just seems too predictable and a little boring. If you do want black get something strappy with some interesting details.

I think this would look lovely with red shoes... but I'm a sucker for red shoes.

Colorful shoes, with your favorite coordinating jewelry! If you dont have any to go with that dress yet i think a bright color, that looks good on you would be great!

I love colorful shoes with black and grey dresses, and I think this particular (lovely!) dress would look fantastic with yellow shoes, either sandals or heels.

Jennie, I recommend a strappy shoe (wedge, maybe) with a snake pattern. I have a pair like that, and I have found that they go with ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING.

You could do something in bronze or even a shimmery navy or deep blue. I feel like even a shimmery peach or champagne might work.

keep the style of the shoe simple, you know--cute pump or wedge, but get it in a super bright color! i looove that look!

I love that dress so much. I want it. I'd say red shoes, or some other bright color. But by "other bright color," I really mean, "red."

I simply adore that dress. I'm unhelpful on the shoe front, though. I usually just hit DSW. I always find something amazing there.

Nude is so in right now. I would do some nude patent leather pumps.

To dress it down I would go with a black wedge espadrille.

I'd wear it with red and gray shoes to pick up the gray in the belt and give it a pop of color. A cute peep toe in these colors would look classy and a little bit funky.

I always, always, always vote for color! I agree that red or yellow would probably be adorable. That being said, you can never go wrong with a cute pair of strappy black sandals if you're looking for something a little more versatile.

The dress is adorable enough to work with anything!
