I can't believe it's already August. August! The EIGHTH MONTH of the year! Kids here in Virginia don't go back to school until after Labor Day, but I know most school systems start in August and did you hear what I already said about how it already IS August? It's kind of depressing until I remember how wonderful cool, fall mornings are and the way the air smells faintly of fires and how it won't be long until I can hide my flabby arms with LONG SLEEVES.
The good thing about August is that now everybody has a reason to go shopping. You can't start a new school year without some new things, you know? My kid is just starting preschool so he has no need for lunch accessories, but that doesn't stop me from wanting them anyway.
