It's been a while since I featured a perfect party, but not for lack of finding great parties to feature. But I'm diving back in because there really is nothing I love more than a thoughtful, warm, fun party thrown to make people feel loved.
Like this birthday dinner party I recently saw at So Wonderful, So Marvelous, one of my recent new favorite blog finds.
Michelle, the blog author, recently threw a dinner party for her mother, and it was small but so personal. It reminded me you don't have to have 9 million perfect details to have a perfect get together.

The table is really pretty, but it's not so cluttered that it becomes overwhelming and impossible to enjoy dinner.
(I also love those wine glasses, and I found a similar set at Crate & Barrel for $3.50 a glass.)
I love the idea Michelle used on the back wall of the above picture. Michelle paper-clipped notes and pictures to ribbon. She had asked guests to send memories and notes before the party, and she printed them up on special paper. Really sweet idea.

Her favors (in the smaller box) were sea salt chocolate covered oreos, which, good lord, how amazing do those sound?
Check out her post for the great menu she created for the party too. There's a picture of cake over there, so what are you waiting for?
You don't have to throw a huge party to be a good hostess. In fact, I'd suggest throwing whatever kind of party or gathering or dinner is best for the guest of honor. Sometimes that's a 50-person all-night, wall-thumping party and sometimes it's an eight-person dinner party with chocolate covered oreos as favors.
What perfect parties are you throwing these days?

Thanks so much for the kind words!
