Lately I've been posting a lot about having babies and bringing them home ... I guess the impending October arrival of our second child -- a son -- has been heavy on my mind these days! Going into having a new baby again the second time around feels so different. You know what to expect (and can mentally prepare for the lack of sleep coming your way, oh dear), and you already have most of the gear!
One of my standby products when I was nursing my daughter was my Bebe au Lait nursing cover. It went everywhere with us the first six months of her life and was just indispensable. The only place I didn't think to bring it was in my hospital bag when I went in for my induction. I'll have it with me this time for post-partum!

These covers are great for several reasons. My favorite feature is that they have an adjustable strap that goes around your neck to hold it in place and in the front there is boning to hold the cover slightly open so you can see your baby and your baby can see you. This feature is also very helpful if you ever carry your baby in a Baby Bjorn and need some shade for your little one as he or she snoozes. The covers are made from lightweight cotton and even have a little terrycloth pocket for a pacifier or nursing shield or your keys. If you are planning to nurse your baby (or know someone who is and need a baby shower gift idea) this is an awesome product!
What is your favorite nursing accessory?

I love these too! You can also find tons of cute ones on Etsy.

I LOVE my "hooter hider"!!!! It is the best ever! When I was done nursing my daughter today, I just wrapped her up in it since the restaurant was cold. Hands down my favorite accessory.

My SIL got me one and I love it! Never thought of using it as a cover up while my babe sleeps in the Bjorn. This will work great when we are at the park since my daughter is sun sensitive due to her Meds. Thanks Manda! For everything!

Thanks for the tip!! I'm due in August with my first baby and I just ordered mine! I'm excited to see what the free "mystery" cover looks like.
