Okay, okay, so I know I've posted about booze two weeks in a row, but I swear I don't have a problem. It's just that I started working again this week after a six month hiatus and to say I'm stressed out is an understatement. As I told our lovely editor, Jennie, earlier today, "I've had little time to do anything else but drive home, drink wine and then go to bed." Which brings me to today's post.
My favorite, everyday, nothing-too-fancy wine is Ménage à Trois by Folie a Deux winery. They call it a red table wine, which basically means it's just a blended wine; in this case, it's a blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet and Merlot.
I buy it by the case at my local Costco for a little over $6.50 a bottle. I do have to tell you, however, that I live about 30 minutes from Napa, where the wine is produced, so I think that factors into its, uhh, cheapness. Regardless, I've never seen it for more that $8.99 a bottle, which in my humble opinion, is still a great price for a great wine.
It's perfect for spaghetti sauces, entertaining a large group of people or just plain old drinking. And needless to say, it's helping me get through this week!
What about you? What's your favorite vino for under ten bucks?

I'm a big fan of Vinho Verde by Famega. It's a Spanish white with a slight bubbly feel and is delcious when chilled and drank on a hot summer day.

Before I got pregnant (and sadly wineless) our favorite for under $10 was Coppola Rosso

I also love Menage A Trois, although it's on sale for $10.99 in Vermont. Smoking Loon Pinot Noir has never failed me, either.

I can't decide! I'll drink any wine that cost less than $7. (My tastes are *broad*, not *shallow*, okay?) I'll just be over here evesdropping on everyone else's suggestions.

I second Firestone Riesling, LOVE that wine. Unfortunately I haven't found anywhere to buy it locally and send home a case whenever I make it to CA.

Kitchen Sink. It's a red blend (they have a white blend, too, but I haven't tried it). It is very fruity without being overly sweet and my current favorite to just sip! Or glug. Depending on the kind of day I've had. Available at Total Wine.
