We live in a two bedroom house so when Baby Number Two arrives, we'll have two kids sharing a room, which has meant some rearranging of furniture. There's pretty much only one layout that works and so unfortunately we ended up with my son's crib right next to the light switch. Genius that he is, he figured out how to turn it on and off in about three seconds. An hour into what was supposed to be his nap, we'd find him in his room, sitting up with the light on, laughing and talking to himself.
Luckily someone invented this light switch guard - it screws on over your regular switch plate and lets you lock the switch into an off or on position. I did have to order it a bit on faith because no where in the description does it mention whether it's the kind of thing that lets you turn the switch on and off or it's the sort of thing that you'd use to simply permanently set the switch to either on or off. But yes, you can still use the switch and turn the light off and on. I also like that it's not the kind of thing that a toddler could figure out on their own.
I can't recall the last time $6.50 saved my sanity so effectively - highly recommended!

Thank you, Elizabeth! My girls share a room too and we have this exact problem. This is a VERY necessary item.
