Can a "taboo" print ever be cute?

While shopping with the girls last weekend we popped into a massive shoe store and I spotted a pair of shoes that stopped me in their tracks. I love them but sort of made thatehhhhh face. "Are those tacky?" I wondered aloud. I saw two women trying them on and I loved them more; neither of them purchased the shoes. I see them bringing so much life to a pair of jeans and a t, and as I expand into my own zip code accessories are as important as ever.  Still, I don't know.  I don't do leopard, do I go with that or take the plunge?

What do you think; would you wear them or are they, in fact, tacky?

Well...I love them and they are totally you! Andy wouldn't approve of them on me (of course) which means I must get a pair!

I have a pair of leopard heels and I love them! I keep the rest of the outfit plain and the shoes make me feel sexy and sassy.

NO they aren't tacky! I say go for it. They are adorable and will lend so much to outfits this spring (if it ever GETS HERE...)!

I keep hearing that animal prints are "in" and that accessories (purse, shoes, belt etc) are the way to wear them.

I love them and I think the print and the bow is FABULOUS - with the caveat that I have never owned a pair of Steve Madden shoes that I didn't think were the worst made shoes EVER in the history of time.

I love them! I absolutely DO NOT do animal print as a rule - I think it's terribly tacky. But this TEENSY little bit of print, with the adorable red bow?

TOTALLY. I would wear them. So cute!

(but you may take my advice with a large helping of salt, because I break all my Rules with shoes. I know not why).

It's the red ribbon that makes it hot and not tacky. Just keep the animal prints to a minimum.

Yeah, I think these are actually great and I've never been an animal print kind of girl. It's the red, agreed. Makes them unique and fun, not tacky.

I saw a woman at an airport with lepoard print boots - those were tacky - these are not.

these are so cute! if you make them a focal point, they'll stand out in a cute way and not a tacky way. :)

Leopard flats are never tacky...and these are adorable! I have several pairs of Steve Madden flats, and disagree with the commenter who said they are really uncomfortable...I love all of mine!

I don't do animal prints AT ALL but I do have a pair of leopard-print flats and I LOVE THEM. I love these even more with that crazy red bow. Go for it.
