I recently painted my bedroom, and after all the furniture went back in, I was finally ready to tackle decorating the awkward corner where the bed sits. I knew I wanted to put some kind of vertical art on both walls, and although the frames I love at Target are a great deal at $12.99, I would have needed at least six to pull off the look I was going for, and I didn't want to spend $80 on this project. And call me crazy, but we live right on the edge of earthquake country - so six frames hanging over where I sleep every night didn't seem like the best plan. Plus the thought of centering and hanging that many frames so none of them were crooked seemed like it was really going to suck.
Anyway. I was somewhat stumped, but then I did what any wanna be decorator worth her salt does and I copied an idea I found on the internet. Here's my inspiration photo, and please forgive me, I have no idea where I got this from, if anyone knows, so I can give credit, please let me know:

And here's how mine turned out:
And a close up:
The paint color is Martha Stewart Siamese Cat from Lowe's. The duvet cover is from Pottery Barn. The bird prints are from a calendar my mother got somewhere in Italy, but you could obviously use any prints you want, and the prints are just hanging from ordinary hardware store twine which I nailed into the wall using large flat headed roofing nails. I had mini clothespins I ordered from Etsy, but in the end I liked the look of large clothespins better, so I just used those.
And best of all? It was FREE, since I had all this stuff already lying around the house!

Awesome. So very awesome!

E- Love this idea! What kind of string/wire did you use?

Thanks Manda!
It's just that brown twine that you can buy (I think in the garden section) at Home Depot - kind of gives it that rustic look.
