One thing that I am rather persnickety about is the freshness of my food. I adhere strictly to expiration dates and refuse to eat anything that looks even remotely sketchy. One thing that can get a bit dicey is produce: sometimes, I'll purchase so much that it goes bad before I have a chance to use it all. Normal plastic food storage doesn't keep food as fresh as I'd like, so when a friend mentioned that she'd purchased OSO Fresh containers, and was basically sick in love with them, I was intrigued: *image from Amazon
These little yellow boxes have what the manufacturers call "Silver Science" which means the plastic has been infused with silver, which somehow (sorry, I was an English major) keeps the food mold-free, fungus-free and helps it keep for longer than other food storage. I can attest to it's sturdiness: I run it through the dishwasher, shove it in my cupboards and otherwise abuse it and it holds up well. For those who are concerned about toxins, it is BPA free and completely safe.
