I've been having an affair for a couple of weeks. Now, before you judge me, I'm sure many of you have been in the same position in which I find myself. You are going along in a long-term relationship and it is fine. Sure, it doesn't have the fire and passion that was there at the beginning, but you don't really have anything to complain about either. Then suddenly, through no fault of your own, you find yourself involved in something new. And it is fresh, and exciting, and before you know it you, loyal, faithful, dedictated you, are a cheater.
It all started when I ran out of body wash. While I was digging through the linen closet seeing if maybe some had fallen down in the back, I found a gift I had received for my birthday a year or two ago. Body wash! Also exfoliant, but I already had an exfoliant that I've been using for years and it is insanely expensive and can only be purchased at one of those snotty spa/salon joints and is hands-down the fanciest thing in my life right now and I had no interest in giving it up, but rather than continue standing in my hallway in the altogether and since it was bundled with the needed body wash I took it back to the shower with me. And since it was there, I decided I may as well use it. And that is how it all started.
Will you all laugh at me if I confess that using this stuff for the first time was the most exciting thing that happened to me all month? It exfoliates with chopped almonds and corn meal and also has honey and it smells so good that you will want to grab a spoon and eat it. (Don't do that though, I just read the ingredients and some of them don't sound highly digestible). It left my face feeling, and I am really ashamed about what I am going to say but I can't help myself, sort of dewey and fresh, and I swear there was a visible difference in my skin after using it just once. Nothing is ever as good as the first time, of course, but I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and am still very happy with it and my shockingly expensive former exfoliant sits unused and unloved and I think well and fully dumped on the lowest shower shelf.
It runs $15.00 for a 4 ounce jar, which sounds pricey but you use it pretty sparingly and it is far less than I am used to paying. And anyway, you have all been working hard lately, you deserve a little something for yourself.
