I love the sights and smells of the holiday season fast approaching. I love the twinkling lights in trees throughout my city, and the aromas of hot chai, cinnamon, pumpkin and gingerbread swirling around my face. I love families gathering around tables large and small to share great food and even better company. I love the way people feel motivated to volunteer in their local communities.
Holiday cheer is amazing, and one of the reasons I'm a much bigger fan of the winter season than I'll ever admit aloud. (I just admitted it, you say? Well, then. This will just have to remain our little secret.)
My personal favorite way to spread holiday cheer? Festive holiday cards, of course!
They're entertaining and fairly simple to send, a blast to receive, and there are endless eco-friendly options if you're worried about adding additional paper to the card-sending fray.
Here are sixteen of my favorite cards for the 2009 season, ready to carry your messages of holiday cheer to loved ones near and far:
From top left to right--
Hand-Printed Holiday Card Set from Caitlin Keegan; Season's Greeting Bear Set from Dutch Door; Prancing Deer Card Set from The Craft Pantry; Kobito Elves Boxed Set from FuguFugu Press; Pinecone Card Set from Amy Marcella; Vintage Arrow Sign Pack from A Favorite; Letterpress Holiday Deer Card Set from Lucky Bee Press; Happy Holidays Greeting Cards from 2nd Coming; Peace & Joy Card Set from Modern Motive (100% recycled); Nine Tiny Reindeer from Wit & Whistle (Customizable text!); Merry Christmas Poinsettia Card Set from Dutch Door; Warm Holiday Wishes from Maidavale; Happy Hannukah Y'All from Pressa Russa; Feliz Navidad from Red Star Ink; Happy Holidays Guitar Gocco 10-Pack from Two Guitars; Peace on Earth
from Smock Paper (Sustainably letter-pressed on bamboo paper with a
portion of proceeds from all sales donated to environmental causes).
Have your own favorite holiday cards? Share them in the comments!
